The Nigerian women's team touched down in Rabat on Wednesday, July 23, late in the morning after traveling from Casablanca. The Super Falcons are ramping up their preparations ahead of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final, scheduled for Saturday, July 26, against Morocco.
Nigeria is gearing up for its tenth Women's Africa Cup of Nations final. After knocking out South Africa in the semi-final with a 2-1 victory, Justine Madugu’s squad arrived in the Moroccan capital this Wednesday, three days before the big showdown at the Rabat Olympic Stadium. The Nigerian players kicked off their preparations at the FUS Academy facilities, opening their first training session to the media.
The final will see the Super Falcons face off against the Atlas Lionesses, who booked their spot by defeating Ghana on penalties (1-1, 4-2 on pens). As tournament hosts, Morocco will be aiming to capture their first continental title in front of their home crowd. Nigeria, the most decorated team in the competition’s history (with 9 titles), will rely on their experience and squad strength to maintain their dominance over African women's football.
