20-year-old Monaco winger dreams of playing for Barcelona – Report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona is always a dream destination for many of the world’s top players. After all, thanks to the club’s prestige and history, many players dream of representing the Blaugrana colors at some point. However, making it to a club like Barcelona is no easy feat.

Still, that does not mean that certain special players are unable to accomplish such a massive goal. Many players have managed to do it, and there will be countless more players in the future that continue to have similar aspirations.

AS Monaco winger dreams of joining Barcelona

One such player who dreams of becoming a Barcelona player, according to SPORT, is Monaco winger Eliesse Ben Seghir. Aged 20, the Moroccan international is one of the most exciting talents in Ligue 1 and there is undeniable quality in his game.

In a Monaco side full of young stars, Eliesse Ben Seghir is undeniably a standout player. He manages to stand out thanks to his impressive dribbling, creativity, and vision. Most comfortable as a left-winger, the right-footed forward likes to cut in from the left and has been rightfully labelled as one of Ligue 1’s most dangerous wingers for a reason.

Previously, the player has even expressed his admiration for Barcelona and how he has always followed the club:

“I grew up watching Barça. Their playing style has always fascinated me.”

Moreover, given his performances under Adi Hütter, under whom he has scored nine goals and four assists, Ben Seghir has developed into quite the player. Interestingly, he has even scored against Barcelona this season during the Joan Gamper trophy when AS Monaco beat Barça 3-0.

The club has kept an eye on Eliesse Ben Seghir

As per the same report, moreover, Barcelona have previously sent scouts to keep an eye on the Moroccan international in the past as well and he reportedly managed to put on a good display when the scouts were there to assess him. Furthermore, with a contract until 2027, there is always going to be speculation surrounding his future and if it can have Barcelona involved in it at some point.

However, reports have also suggested that Barcelona do not intend to sign a forward any time soon, especially when it comes to the summer transfer window. Instead, they have their eyes set on possibly reinforcing other positions in the team, and even potentially tending to some player renewals.
