Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has claimed there will be an update on Kylian Mbappé’s future in a matter of months.
Speaking to El Debate, Pérez hinted the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s future could be settled this winter.
“In January we will have news from Mbappé,” the Madrid president said.
“We hope that everything can be resolved by 1 January.”
Mbappé was a target for Real Madrid in the summer and will have just one year remaining on his PSG contract at the end of the season.
Speaking to L’Équipe and RMC on Monday, Mbappé confirmed that he had asked to leave the French giants when the summer transfer window was still open.
“If I had left this summer, it would only have been for Real Madrid,” the 22-year-old said, before admitting he was disappointing a move didn’t go through.
“I was a little at the time.
“When you want to leave, you’re not happy if you stay.”
Mbappé went on to say he has since moved on from the disappointment.
