Flamengo manager Renato Gaúcho had no complaints after his side racked up their sixth straight win since he took over by defeating Corinthians on Sunday.
First-half goals from Éverton Ribeiro, Gustavo Henrique, and Bruno Henrique put the visitors firmly in control at the Neo Química Arena.
Their workrate noticeably dropped in the latter stages, which allowed Corinthians score a late consolation through Vitinho.
But the loss of the clean sheet did little to dampen Gaúcho’s spirits.
“It wasn’t a request, but it’s difficult for you to play 90 minutes the way we play, suffocating the opponent, not letting him play, putting pressure on,” the former Grêmio boss said.
“We had practically achieved the result, it is normal for the team to value possession of the ball a little more, not to run as much as they did at the beginning of the game.”
The win sees the Rubro-Negro rise to fifth in the Brasileirão table.
They are eight points behind leaders Palmeiras, but have two games in hand over the Verdão.
