Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang encrusts Cartier watch with sapphires

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had a Cartier watch encrusted with sapphires and other gems, raising it’s value to £255k from just under £3,000.

The work was carried out by a company called MJJ Exclusive who said about the watch, “We present to you an incredible customization of sapphires and gemstones with over 350 individual gemstones, for a total of 88 cts, all set by hand.”

I know footballers are paid a lot of money but there is just something about this that seems so over-the-top and unnecessary, especially given the hardships so many are suffering.

This watch upgrade, however, hasn’t even cost Aubameyang a week’s wages, which I know isn’t his fault and this is nothing against him at all, more a comment on the world we live in that sees NHS staff rewarded for their real-life heroics with a 1% payrise.

Anyway, enough of my moaning, back to the watch.
