Guillermo Ochoa wants América to develop a ruthless streak in order to maintain their positive start to the Guard1anes 2021 season.

The Azulcrema beat Puebla 1-0 on Saturday courtesy of a second-half Roger Martínez goal, but they passed up other chances to put the result beyond doubt.

Las Águilas have won three of their opening five games, but drew at Santos Laguna last weekend after conceding a late equaliser.

Captain Ochoa is pleased with his side’s progress, but would prefer to see them kill off opponents when they get the chance.

“I think we are a pretty solid team, it has been seen in these games,” the goalkeeper said, per TUDN.

“We showed it by keeping a clean sheet and it is important to close the games because in the last one we missed the win,” he added.

América are level on points at the top of the table with Toluca and Monterrey, but sit third by virtue of their weaker goal difference.

They are back in action on Saturday when they host Querétaro.
