Fulham will take Liverpool to an independent tribunal after the two clubs failed to come to an agreement on a fee for the transfer of Harvey Elliott.

The Premier League champions acquired Elliott last July but are still yet to pay any compensation for the 17-year-old.

According to The Times, Fulham turned down an initial offer of £750k for the winger and are reported to value Elliott at £7m.

Elliott signed his first professional contract earlier in the week, a three-year deal keeping him at Anfield until 2023.

He became the youngest player to play in the Premier League when he came on for Fulham against Wolves at the age of 16 years and 30 days in May 2019.

Elliott has impressed Jürgen Klopp enough to feature eight times for the senior side so far this season, including in two appearances from the bench in the Premier League.

The Professional Footballers’ Compensation Committee will now meet in the next couple of months to end the impasse between the two clubs.
