21:36 – The Sun are reporting that Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy has been “at the centre of a coronavirus scare”.

21:16 – CONMEBOL have also confirmed that the South American qualifiers for the 2020 World Cup, scheduled for 23-31 March, will be postponed.

21:04 – CONMEBOL has just announced that the Copa Libertadores will be suspended between 15 and 21 March.

18:30 – Wow, we actually had an hour without any significant updates.

But we’re back with another – this time FA Ireland who have announced the ‘cessation of all football’ until March 29.

17:15 – Big news coming from Uefa: two Champions League games have been officially postponed.

  • Manchester City v Real Madrid
  • Juventus v Lyon

No further news regarding rescheduling, or any other fixtures has been announced.

16:45 – There we have it! MLS has officially suspended match play for 30 days, effective immediately.

16:40 – Liga NOS have announced that following meetings with coaches, players and officials, play will be suspended indefinitely.

16:30 – MLS is reportedly considering following many European leagues and suspending fixtures until further notice.

15:48 – The Eredivisie is the latest league to be stopped until the end of March.

15:46 – According to L’Équipe, Uefa ARE prepared to move Euro 2020 to next summer.

Domestic leagues would then have time to finish in the upcoming months.

15:41 – That’s now four Premier League clubs with scares. How much longer can this go on?

15:34 – Another Covid-19 case has been confirmed at Hannover 96, making it two players who have tested positive there. The rest of the squad is now in quarantine and the club have asked the DFL to postpone their next two matches.

15:19 –  And now an official statement from Gabbiadini’s club, Sampdoria.

15:15 – Manolo Gabbiadini has been confirmed as the second Serie A player with coronavirus. Daniele Rugani was confirmed to have contracted the virus on Wednesday evening.

15:07 – Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that THREE Leicester player have self-isolated after showing signs of Covid-19.

15:03 – Chaos in Germany. After one coronavirus case at Hannover yesterday, Bild say a  second player at the club has also tested positive.

But there was a team dinner before he found out, the player in question has met with his family since, and his brother is the physio at Eintracht Braunschweig.

14:57 – The Premier League plot thickens.

14:51 – So Uefa won’t make a decision on the Champions League yet, but they have made one on the Uefa Youth League and youth international fixtures.

14:20 – Uefa have finally released a statement.

They will lead discussions and come to a decision on how to proceed with their competitions on Tuesday 17 March.

15:51 – The Telegraph have revealed that an unnamed Premier League club are carrying out coronavirus tests with three players displaying symptoms.

13:40 – As per Marca, two members of Real Sociedad’s women’s side have now tested positive for coronavirus.

13:18 – Incredibly Premier League games are also likely to continue with crowds.

13:14 – And, somehow, Uefa are still clinging on to the idea of Euro 2020 going ahead as planned.

11:35 – Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is expecting Premier League games to be moved behind closed doors pretty soon indeed.

11:22 – Roma are the latest Italian club to suspend training altogether.

11:10 – 2. Bundesliga club Erzgebirge Aue have asked not to play this weekend.

One fan has tested positive for coronavirus after attending Aue’s last match.

10:55 – Cancellations galore! First, in Denmark.

But also in Austria, ALL FOOTBALL in the country has been suspended, except the Men’s Bundesliga (on a two-week suspension) and national team games.

10:52 – VfL Bochum, of the 2. Bundesliga, are allowing fans to buy ‘ghost tickets’ for games behind closed doors.

This way, supporters can help cover the financial losses the club are set to suffer.

10:34 – As things stand, we will still have six Europa League matches tonight, though a number will take place behind closed doors.
