Roger Martínez will almost certainly never play in an América shirt ever again and Miguel Herrera does not want to discuss the situation anymore.
The Colombian, who is holding out for a move to Europe, is not in Herrera’s plans, though he is training with the team.
América are very keen to sell him but there are currently no offers for the player from across the Atlantic.
It’s believed David Beckham’s new side Inter Miami FC were willing to pay $15m for the player, but are set to sign Celtic’s Lewis Morgan and Real Betis’ Cristian Tello, which would surely end their pursuit of Martínez.
Herrera, who originally confessed Martínez’s desire to leave the club, is no longer willing to respond to questions concerning the matter.
“This is the last time I talk about Roger Martínez, I have no problem with him, I would have liked him to stay but he wants to leave.
“There is an offer on the table (from MLS). If he wants to leave, he should take the offer.”
The 25-year-old contributed 17 goals and 11 assists in 67 games at the club since his $9.5m arrival from Villarreal in July 2018.
