La Liga and Bundesliga marksmen added to Atletico Madrid’s striker shortlist | OneFootball

With speculation rife on the futures of Alvaro Morata, Memphis Depay and Angel Correa, it’s expected that Atletico Madrid will look to sign a new striker during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Atleti will not have too much to spend, as the likelihood is that the majority of funds will go towards strengthening the defensive department. Still, that hasn’t stopped targets being added to the shortlist, which has been reported by Relevo. Two players on that list are Girona’s Artem Dovbyk and Stuttgart marksman Serhou Guirassy.

It was revealed earlier this week that Dovbyk has a release clause of €40m, which would make it difficult for Atleti to do a deal. Guirassy’s is more affordable at €17.5m, although Borussia Dortmund are noted to be ahead in the race at this stage.

Either player would be an excellent addition to Atletico Madrid’s squad for next season, especially Dovbyk, whose first season in La Liga has been spectacular. It remains to be seen if funds open up for either deal becoming a genuine possibility.
