Music legend and diehard Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has revealed exactly why he snubbed the chance to partake in the Poznan with his fellow supporters at Fulham.

Pep Guardiola and his players cruised to a 0-4 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon to move them to within just two wins of a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title and defeat Arsenal in consecutive top-flight title races.

Josko Gvardiol bagged a brace despite operating from left-back at Craven Cottage, whilst Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez would also get on the scoresheet to record an emphatic victory over Marco Silva’s side.

But away from the sublime action on the pitch, one man was stealing the limelight off it, with Oasis legend Noel Gallagher consistently being tracked by television cameras throughout his time in the away end with Manchester City’s fans.

But it was Gallagher’s decision not to get involved in Manchester City’s rendition of ‘The Poznan’ in the second-half that grabbed the attention, as he stood still whilst all those surrounding turned their backs to jump up and down.

Speaking during an appearance on talkSPORT’s breakfast show with Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist on Monday, Noel Gallagher was quizzed on TV cameras consistently focussing their attentions on him during away matches, and why he snubbed the Poznan at Fulham.

“You don’t really know until after the game and your phone explodes,” Noel Gallagher answered. “I have to say in my defence on Saturday I was still feeling the effects of a spectacular night out.”

He continued, “So even if I wanted to join in the Poznan I don’t think I would’ve been able to.”

Manchester City return to London on Tuesday night as they take on their penultimate contest of the ongoing season, taking on Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham in north London with a chance to take everything down to the final day with a victory.
