Jesús Navas wraps up his Sevilla career as both the club’s most decorated player with eight major honours and the player with most appearances for the club having worn Sevilla’s jersey a total of 688 times.

Despite being 38 years of age, the right-back still played a pivotal role for Sevilla, having appeared 28 times in the league and four times in the Champions League this season.

Jesús Navas played his first stint for the club from youth level to the first team between 2000 and 2013, before having a four-year stint at Manchester City between 2013 and 2017, then finally returning to his boyhood club for a seven-year stint from 2017 until now.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Navas leaving is due to not being offered a new contract by the club, and he is not retiring, but rather beginning a new chapter as a free agent at the age of 38.
