Getafe head coach José Bordalás has taken firm aim at referee Figueroa Vázquez.

As much comes owing to his performance in the club’s La Liga meeting with Alavés.

Getafe are fresh off a hugely disappointing 1-0 defeat, which saw them leapfrogged by their Mendizorroza hosts into the top half of the Spanish top-flight table on Saturday night.

The matchup descended into nothing short of chaos late on, as a coming together between Ilaix Moriba and Samu Omorodion culminated in the former being given his marching orders.

From here, things quickly turned sour on the touchline, too, as the aforementioned José Bordalás, according to Mundo Deportivo, ‘came to blows’ with a member of the Alavés coaching staff.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at Mendizorroza, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear that Getafe’s headmaster remained in altogether fiery mood.

Rather than airing frustrations with his side’s opponents on Saturday, however, Bordalás made clear his anger with referee Jorge Figueroa Vázquez, adamant that the Spaniard has long afforded his side overly harsh treatment:

“The referee slammed the door at the end of the game and said that he was sick and tired of putting up with this team. Imagine if that had been said by some player or someone else. There are no sanctions for the referees. It always happens to us with this referee. It doesn’t happen to us with any other one.”
