According to Sacha Tavolieri, Reims are considering Le Havre’s manager Luka Elsner as a potential candidate to become their new manager. The managerial post at the Stade Auguste Delaune is vacant after Will Still was dismissed of his services nearly two weeks ago.

Still’s departure at Reims didn’t come as a surprise after the English coach started to develop a fractious relationship with those in the boardroom at the Champagne club. However, lots of speculation has now begin to stir about who will replace Still. Red Star coach Habib Beye has emerged as the leading candidate for the role.

Staying in Ligue 1?

Despite Beye being considered by many to be the favourite for the post, it doesn’t look like a certainty with other candidates being considered. Reims have already established contact with Elsner to understand his availability and any release clause would not be an issue, Tavolieri reports. The Slovenian coach could be set to remain in the French top flight even though his Le Havre team could still yet be relegated.
