Real Madrid star Federico Valverde saw the most remarkable of individual streaks brought to an end on Saturday evening.

Real, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.

Fresh off booking a spot in the Champions League final in midweek, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops turned attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with relegated Granada.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos made short work of their hosts, en route to the right side of a 4-0 result at Los Cármenes.

Amongst those watching on from the bench in the clash, meanwhile, was the aforementioned Federico Valverde.

Amid a heavily-rotated Real Madrid XI, midfielder Valverde joined the likes of Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos and Vinícius Jr. in being afforded some much-needed rest.

After failing to take to the pitch at all over the course of the 90 minutes in Andalusia, though, the Uruguayan said farewell to a frankly incredible streak.

Prior to this evening, Valverde had played at least some part in every single one of Los Merengues’ 50 fixtures across all competitions this season.
