According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in a move for Lille OSC’s Lucas Chevalier (22), as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping options over the summer.

PSG have been strongly linked over the past season with a move for a goalkeeper that can provide fresh competition to their current number one: Gianluigi Donnarumma (25). The Italian is highly regarded but questions remain over his capacity to make high-profile mistakes.

Arnau Tenas (22) is the current second choice with Keylor Navas (37) and Sergio Rico (30) both coming to the end of their contracts. However, Tenas reportedly is no longer content to sit in the shadow of Donnarumma, and if he cannot force his way into the first team he would like to move on loan.

This likely means that PSG will have to dip into their transfer fund, with Chevalier as one of their prime targets. Captain for the France U23s, and an impressive performer with a Lille side that hopes to clinch a Champions League place.

Chevalier is highly considered by PSG’s sporting director Luís Campos who believes he could provide competition for Donnarumma. However, the French champions also remain interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel (26), especially after his performance against them in the Champions League semi-final.
