PSG not planning any tribute for Kylian Mbappé’s final home game

PSG have no intention to officially celebrate Kylian Mbappé’s (25) achievements in the French capital for the club record goalscorer’s final home game at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, according to a report this Saturday from Le Parisien. On Friday, the France skipper lifted the lid on the worst-kept secret in world football and announced that he would be leaving Les Parisiens at the end of the season, with Real Madrid his most likely destination.

The outlet understand that the Ligue 1 champions have been caught by surprise by Mbappé’s announcement. Besides, the fact the PSG striker ominously omitted to mention club president Nasser Al Khelaifi in his video message probably did not go unnoticed. In such conditions, PSG consider that the timing was too short to plan a tribute for Mbappé, considering that Les Parisiens are due to lift Hexagoal – the Ligue 1 trophy – celebrating their title win, after Sunday’s game against Toulouse, which is seen as more important than an individual tribute.

Despite the troubled relationship between Mbappé and Al Khelaifi, PSG have not closed the door on planning a ceremony, presumably before the Coupe de France final against Lyon on Saturday May, 25, according to Le Parisien. Nevertheless, the PSG ultras are planning to celebrate Mbappé’s seven seasons in the capital with a tifo in the Parc des Princes stands on Sunday.
