Omari Hutchinson has issued a farewell message to Ipswich Town supporters on Instagram, leaving some fearing that he won't secure a return to Portman Road this summer.

Hutchinson joined the Tractor Boys on loan from Chelsea last summer, having previously been linked with a move to the EFL in previous years, most notablyReading and West Bromwich Albion.

And during the early stages of his time at Portman Road, it was unclear whether he was going to make that much of an impact, with his starting opportunities potentially set to be limited.

However, the Jamaica international has shone for Ipswich, playing a big part in guiding them to back-to-back promotions at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Not only has he been able to record a respectable number of assists, but he has also been able to get himself on the scoresheet a number of times, scoring some crucial goals to earn Kieran McKenna's side some extra points.

His performances at Portman Road have allowed him to attract interest from elsewhere, with clubs in England, Germany and the Netherlands all thought to be eyeing the 20-year-old ahead of a potential summer swoop.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who believes another loan exit from Stamford Bridge is the most likely outcome.

However, TEAMtalk have recently reported that the Tractor Boys are considering an audacious permanent move for the attacking midfielder, who can also operate out wide.

Ipswich's interest in bringing Hutchinson back has been reported by numerous outlets and following their promotion, some may feel their chances of recruiting him again are fairly strong.

However, some fans are fearing that they have seen the last of the 20-year-old in the Tractor Boys' strip because of his goodbye message.

He posted on Instagram: "I want to reflect on how special this year has been for me. Since arriving at the club you have all made me feel welcome and loved.

"Thanks to my amazing teammates who I now call brothers, helped me from the first day I entered that changing room. Also like to thank the special people behind the scenes who treated me like one of their own.

"To all the coaching staff that helped develop me into the player I am today, thank you.

"Most importantly, a massive thank you to Kieran McKenna for trusting and believing in my ability. You brought out the best of me and I will always be grateful for that.

"Ipswich Town will always have [a] place in my heart."

Omari Hutchinson's message doesn't mean an Ipswich Town return is 100% off the cards

Hutchinson would be a great addition for the Tractor Boys this summer.

And it could also be a move that suits the player, with the 20-year-old already knowing Ipswich well and winning plenty of game time there.

Some will question how much game time he would get under McKenna next season, with the team being promoted to the Premier League.

However, Ipswich have many areas that they need to strengthen and with money potentially set to be addressed to other areas, that could give Hutchinson an opportunity to start a decent number of games.

Because a loan return could be a good outcome for all parties, a move simply must not be ruled out at this stage. Ipswich fans should retain hope.
