A revolution is afoot at OGC Nice. Over the course of the coming days and weeks, the club’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, and manager, Francesco Farioli, could leave the club. According to a report from L’Équipe, Didier Digard is a candidate to replace the latter in the dugout at the Allianz Riviera.
Dutch media Telegraaf have reported that Farioli has reached an agreement with Ajax to become the club’s new manager. The Italian has reportedly agreed upon a three-year deal, however an agreement must now be found between the two clubs, in order to prise Farioli away from the Riviera one year before the expiry of his contract.
L’Équipe have hypothesised who could replace Farioli. As well as Bruno Genesio and Régis Le Bris, both of whom were candidates to replace interim manager Digard last summer, Digard himself, who is currently in the process of obtaining his coaching badges, is also a contender. Certain figures within the club are pushing for his return.
