Stade Rennais and OGC Nice may both be in the market for sporting directors this summer. Florian Maurice was close to the exit door at Rennes earlier this season but ultimately remained, however, his future is once again in question, as is the future of Florent Ghisolfi at NiceLe Gym’s sporting director is heavily linked with the job at AS Roma.

According to Foot Mercato, both Nice and Rennes are therefore looking at Stade Brestois’ highly-rated sporting director Grégory Lorenzi, who has played a central role in taking the club from relegation contenders to a European team. Next season Les Ty Zéfs will compete in European competition for the first time in their history and in the UEFA Champions League no less.

Naturally, Lorenzi is coveted, and there are potential openings this summer. Foot Mercato understands that, fearing that the sporting director role will become vacant, both Nice and Rennes have opened talks with Lorenzi in anticipation.
