Man Utd's best and worst players in bleak Arsenal defeat | OneFootball

Manchester United were unable to dent Arsenal's Premier League title dreams as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils returned to home soil desperate to improve on their embarrassing 4-0 loss at the hands of Crystal Palace at the start of the week. While they were unable to deliver a victory over Arsenal, they did show some improvement, despite being without key players such as Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

But did any of the players impress? Here are United's best and worst performers from the loss, courtesy of 90min's player ratings.

Andre Onana - 6/10

It's not the first time that the man between the sticks has been the most prominent player on the pitch for United, and against Arsenal, Andre Onana was once again the one to credit.

He will have expected to be on his toes during the game, with Arsenal usually on fire in front of goal and United likely to give up bucketloads of shots. While he surprisingly wasn't forced to make too many saves, the ones he did make stopped the Gunners from running away with it.

He blocked a powerful shot from Gabriel Martinelli to deny Arsenal a second, and then just moments later stopped a similar attempt from Declan Rice. Onana also proved very useful with his feet, offering reliable routes through the press.

Honourable mention

Jonny Evans: 6/10

Jonny Evans proved important in United's high line, utilising his awareness to get himself in the right places at the right time.

He was forced to feature in a makeshift defence alongside Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and stood out among his peers to keep Arsenal out. Mind you, it wasn't a hard ask to look better than Casemiro.

Casemiro has been rated 90min's worst player? It's no shock really. The part-time centre-back looked like a rabbit in headlights in front of Arsenal's attack and proved to be pretty useless by all accounts.

He did however, look better than he did in the thrashing against Crystal Palace, but the bar is low.

His worst mistake undoubtedly led to Leandro Trossard's goal, the only one needed for Arsenal's victory, when he left his position completely and allowed the Gunners to be onside.

It looked as if he was just strolling up and down the pitch, and certainly should not be one of this team's regular starters.

Rasmus Hojlund: 4/10

Rasmus Hojlund struggled against Arsenal throughout. When he should've been looking to build United's attack, he was more occupied in toying with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba - who looked levels above the striker.

United were without Rashford, so Hojlund really should have stepped up to offer strength. He didn't do this, and instead found himself hauled off the pitch when his side were chasing an equaliser.
