Manchester United’s poor week got even worse in the first half against Sheffield United, and once more it was all their own making.

After almost squandering a 3-0 lead at Wembley against Championship side Coventry City, they came out fighting at Old Trafford against 20th placed Sheffield United, with the Red Devils having plenty of efforts on target.

As they have so often this season though, they gifted their opposition a goal.

This time, it came through goalkeeper André Onana, who mis-hit a pass out from defence and only found Blades defender Jadon Bogle.

Though unexpected, the full-back took full advantage of the situation and smashed it back past United’s no.1, handing his side a shock lead in the process. It was just the ninth time this season that Sheffield United scored the first goal in a game.

Fortunately, Harry Maguire levelled things against his old side, and it is safe to say Onana was the most relieved man in the stadium to see his teammate head home.
