Newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah are plotting an ambitious move for Liverpool legend Sadio Mane, who only moved to current club Al-Nassr one year ago.

Mane, 32, joined Cristiano Ronaldo in the Al-Nassr ranks last summer for a transfer fee of around £24 million.

The striker quit Bayern Munich after just one season in the Bundesliga, signing a mammoth £650,000 per week contract in Saudi Arabia which extends until 2026.

Senegal forward Mane has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in his maiden SPL season but could already be on the move as Al-Qadsiah flex their muscles.

Asharq Al-Awsat now reports that the Michel-coached side will seek to add Mane to their squad for the upcoming campaign having just secured promotion from the second tier.

Al-Qadsiah are owned by Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Arabian Oil Group with an estimated value of over $2 TRILLION, coming under state control along with seven other Saudi clubs back in 2023.

The side were previously coached by another Anfield icon in Robbie Fowler before he was relieved of his duties last year.

Virgil van Dijk is another player linked with the ambitious Al-Qadsiah, with a recent report in France suggesting that they had already made a wallet-busting offer for the Liverpool captain.

Their social media team also hit the headlines in recent days for a bizarre dig at Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard, after the former skipper’s club Al-Ettifaq wished Al-Qadsiah well on their promotion.

Mane spent six seasons at Liverpool, scoring 120 goals in 269 matches under Jurgen Klopp. He won a Premier League, a Champions League, a Club World Cup and an FA Cup among other honours before a surprise move to Bayern in 2022.

Described by Trent Alexander-Arnold as 'the perfect attacker', Mane is also a two-time African Footballer of the Year and appeared four times in the PFA Team of the Year.

Mane, along with his Senegal teammates, became Africa Cup of Nations champions back in 2021, defeating Mohamed Salah's Egypt on penalties in a tightly-contested final.
