I am fully aware that this glorious and illustrious German manager hung up his boots well over twenty years ago, however, my indecision in whether to award my own man of the match award to either Alexis Mac Allister, Jarell Quansah, or Harvey Elliott, was broken by the wonderful man of this piece, someone who I wanted to write about after this fitting 2-0 victory at Anfield. Wolves played their part and the players showed their want to win for their outgoing boss, in what became a day of farewells under the Anfield covered sun.

The three players mentioned above have enjoyed very good campaigns and will immerse themselves into the next generation of this historic club, though history on this day and in this closing tenure of brilliance, must be thrown full blown around the tall shoulders of one man and one man alone. I would be surprised if any one Liverpool fan had a bad word to say about this giant man and even larger personality, someone that has delivered gift after gift to a fanbase that was somewhat worn down and redundant at the time of his appointment.

Any negative comments on this day or anywhere after this game should have that person questioning their allegiance, as even in a year where things weren’t perfect and the end of season battle for supremacy limped to a finish, this team emblazoned in the new Liverpool strip finished a mere nine points behind a team that won the Premier League title once more, due only to sports washing and 115 charges that barely come close to accounting for the underhanded dealings of a tarnished City football club.

Tomorrow morning, we will all wake with the reality that this club is no longer in the famous embrace of the former Borussia Dortmund legend, Jürgen Klopp. This supporter is thankful and proud of what has been achieved in this memorable era, as quite simply, a plethora of silverware has been won against a team that has been almost unbeatable. Kindness and heartfelt words will spread through Merseyside and this club will start to build towards success once more, though one thing must never be forgotten, which is the wonderful stewardship of the man that leaves his team in a far greater state than when he first arrived.

You’ll never walk alone.

My man of the match against Wolves, thank-you for everything.

Pre-match Prediction;

Liverpool 2 – 0 Wolves
