Leicester City have sealed an immediate return to the Premier League after Leeds United’s shock 4-0 loss at Queen’s Park Rangers.

The result at Loftus Road means Enzo Maresca’s side are four points clear of the second-placed Elland Road club, who cannot catch them with just one game left in their league season.

Leicester’s relegation last year came as a major shock, particularly as it came just two years after winning the FA Cup and eight on from their legendary title success, but they have now righted their wrongs and will once again be in the top-flight from August, possibly as Championship winners.

Leeds’ defeat is also a major boost to Ipswich Town’s hopes of automatic promotion. The Tractor Boys remain one point behind in third but have two games in hand, the first of which is on Saturday night away to Hull City.

As for QPR, they are now mathematically safe from relegation after a stunning performance, and will once again be in the Championship next season.
