Just a few days after being unveiled as the new Canadian Menās National Team coach, former Leeds United and RB Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch has revealed that he wasnāt pleased how he was treated by the U.S. Soccer Federation.
Marsch was a leading candidate for the U.S. Menās National Team job, a job that eventually was given back to Gregg Berhalter for his second stint as head coach.
But speaking on a podcast this week, Marsch revealed his displeasure with the process.
āMy respect for U.S. Soccer is big,āhe said. āBut I went through a process with them, right? And Iām not going to go into it, but I wasnāt treated very well in the process.
āAnd so, whatever man, thatās in the past now. The minute it was done I was like, āOK, Iām moving forward, and Iām going to figure out whatās right for me.ā
āIt motivated me again to find the right people. And so now I just want to talk about Canada, because Iām excited. I feel like itās a fan base and a player pool and a nation that resonates with me. Iāve worked there before, I know a lot of the people involved.ā
Marsch will lead Canada into the summer as they participate in Copa AmƩrica 2024.
