The Foxes sealed promotion straight back to the top flight at the first attempt under Enzo Maresca.

The Italian coach was hired last summer with the goal of guiding the club back to the Premier League, which they achieved while clinching the Championship title along the way.

The Leicestershire outfit were a consistent feature of the first division for several years prior to their 2023 relegation, so will be looking to reassert themselves as a regular once again by avoiding relegation in 2025.

Here we look at the dream moves Leicester can make to get off to a good start to the summer window…

Abdul Fatawu signs

Abdul Fatawu proved an excellent addition to the side last summer, contributing six goals and 13 assists to their Championship campaign (all stats from Fbref).

He signed on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal, and proved his worth amid a €17 (£14.6) million permanent purchase clause, should the Foxes gain promotion.

However, the registration ban currently put in place on Leicester by the EFL could prove a stumbling block to getting this deal over the line.

Confirming this deal once and for all will be a relief to supporters, who will want to see Fatawu competing for them in the Premier League next season.

Jamie Vardy re-signs

Jamie Vardy is out of contract this summer, and could walk away from the Foxes after 12 remarkable years at the King Power Stadium.

He has helped Leicester gain promotion twice, win a first FA Cup and was crucial to their 2016 Premier League title triumph, cementing his status as a legend of the club.

Having someone with that level of experience in the dressing room will be invaluable to Maresca’s team next season.

And his performances in the Championship this year showed he still has plenty to offer to the team on the pitch as well, showing he has earned a new deal to stay with the Foxes for at least another 12 months.

Harry Souttar is sold

Harry Souttar arrived in January 2023 with a lot of promise having impressed in the Championship with Stoke City, as well as at the World Cup with Australia.

However, the £15 million spent to sign him has not worked out as he has been unable to earn a place in Maresca’s first team plans.

The centre-back made just three appearances in the Championship last season, only one of which came as a start.

Selling him this summer would be a good way to raise some much-needed funds and clear up some space in the squad.

Kelechi Iheanacho departs

Kelechi Iheanacho is another player out of contract this summer, and his departure is looking increasingly likely.

The forward fell down the pecking order in 2024, making just four appearances in the league this calendar year so far.

Allowing Iheanacho to go for free isn’t the best business, but it is now the better option compared to re-signing him to a new deal.

Leicester have enough attacking options to do without the Nigerian, and his massive wages being taken from their books could help their dire financial situation.
