Barcelona made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory over Almeria on Thursday, and they have Fermin Lopez to thank for that – the young midfielder scored both goals at the Power Horse Stadium.

However, it was a very unconvincing performance from Xavi Hernandez’s side, as the man himself admitted when he spoke to the media (via Diario AS) post-match.

“They had clear chances. I think we were not efficient enough. I think we have scored the second goal before we did. I think we struggled in defence too, but the win is very good for us. We are getting closer to securing second place.”

Xavi also spoke on Fermin, and his remarkable progression to the Barcelona first team.

“We were told that his loan (at Linares) had been very good. I had liked him for a couple of years. When we tried him in pre-season, I saw that he was ready to compete. He’s a player for many years.”
