Barcelona need just three points from their final two matches to secure second place in La Liga, and thus qualify for the 2025 Spanish Super Cup. They made it back-to-win victories on Thursday, securing a far from convincing victory over already-relegated Almeria at the Power Horse Stadium.

They were made to pay just beyond the hour mark, as Fermin turned home Sergi Roberto’s cross for his and Barcelona’s second of the evening.

A rare appearance for Vitor Roque was the big novelty of the remaining minutes, as Barcelona saw out the victory to go four points clear of Girona. A victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday would ensure a top two finish for Xavi Hernandez’s side.
