Despite the Arsenal connections, David Moyes insists his team will not be thinking about Mikel Arteta or Declan Rice in the Premier League title race, ahead of their upcoming match against Manchester City.

While Arsenal supporters might be hoping for a West Ham victory to stop 115-charges City collecting an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row, David Moyes has emphasised his team’s sole focus is on their own performance, despite any feelings he might have for some of those involved.

Mikel Arteta played 209 times for Moyes, more than any other manager he played for, while Declan Rice made 179 appearances.

“We have to concentrate on ourselves. We’re not playing to make Manchester City win the Premier League and we’re not playing to make Arsenal win the Premier League. We’re trying to win the game for West Ham,” Moyes said ahead of what will be his last game for the club.

Despite his past relationshipswith Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Declan Rice, Moyes denied any bias towards either team. He also dismissed claims of receiving messages from Arteta or Rice regarding the title race. “No, I got a message from Dec when it was told I was leaving, but that is it,” Moyes said.

They have only won once at the Etihad Stadium in 21 years and collected just two draws in that time across 17 matches.
