Lazio president Claudio Lotito expressed his delight and gratitude as the club managed to register almost unprecedented numbers in terms of season-ticket sales.
Over the past few months, the Biancocelesti were dealt back-to-back blows. Their once-promising campaign under Marco Baroni was undone by a horrific finish, which saw the club miss out on a spot in Europe. The management tried to raise morale by bringing back Maurizio Sarri, but the coach’s return was blighted by the ensuing transfer ban imposed by COVISOC.
In most cases, the lack of new signings combined with the absence of European football would have dire consequences on ticket sales. Nevertheless, the ever-so-loyal Lazio supporters decided to show up for the team at its darkest hour.
On Thursday, the club announced on its official X account that 29,163 season tickets have been sold. As La Lazio Siamo Noi notes, this is the Aquile’s second-highest tally since Lotito’s takeover in 2004. Last season, the club sold 29,036 season tickets, which was also considered a solid figure at the time.
Therefore, Lotito took the opportunity to thank Lazio’s fanbase for their unwavering support of the cause. The club patron released an official statement on Lazio’s official Instagram account.
Dear fans, At the end of the season ticket campaign, I would like to address all of you, the great Biancoceleste family, with deepest affection. Over 29,000 of you have chosen to be there, to renew your trust, and to confirm once again the strong bond you have with our Lazio. This is one of the most significant achievements of the last twenty years, and it takes on even greater significance when considering the complex climate that has accompanied this phase. Today, I speak not only on behalf of myself, but of all of Lazio. Together, we want to say thank you, because without your support and the silent work of this great group behind the team, nothing would be possible.
