According to journalist Jose Felix Diaz from MARCA, Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni will miss the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund due to his ongoing injury.

Despite his best efforts to recover, the injury he sustained in a match against Bayern Munich has sidelined him since early May.

Right now, the midfielder is currently focusing on being fit for the Euro Cup. Although he has been selected in the 25-man roster for the tournament, his participation remains uncertain and will be decided by coach Didier Deschamps.

Consultation with doctors

Tchouameni has sought various medical opinions to expedite his recovery from a broken bone, even travelling to the United States to consult a specialist who confirmed the injury and outlined the necessary recovery time.

Healing a bone requires a specific timeframe that cannot be rushed, especially in an area that bears a lot of stress.

Interestingly, this injury is the second Tchouameni has suffered from wear and tear rather than a direct impact.

The previous injury he sustained was different and occurred during a match against Barcelona on October 28, which kept him out of action until December 17—a total of 50 days.

A similar recovery period now would likely rule him out of the Euro Cup.

Who will Ancelotti select for the final?

In Tchouameni’s absence, Eduardo Camavinga will take on the role of midfielder against Borussia Dortmund.

While Camavinga is less positional than Tchouameni, he offers greater potential in advancing the ball due to his ability to break through defensive lines with his vertical play.

Before his injury, Tchouameni had secured a starting position in either the midfield or defence for Real Madrid.

Although he has played in defence regularly owing to the number of injuries this season, it is not his preferred position.

It goes without saying that Tchouameni’s absence is a significant blow for Real Madrid, but the team remains hopeful for his future contributions once he recovers fully.

For now, though, his main focus is to heal properly and aim for a return to action that ensures his long-term health and performance.
