Bayern Munich want Tottenham Hotspur’s Emerson Royal | OneFootball

As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich want to sign Tottenham Hotspur right-back Emerson Royal.

The Premier League outfit are looking to offload the Brazilian this summer, and Der Rekordmeister are keen to add further depth to the right side of their backline. It is understood that Spurs are hoping to secure €29 million for Emerson’s signature.

Nevertheless, Bayern will face a significant amount of competition if they are to lure the 25-year-old to Bavaria. According to the report, Juventus and AC Milan are also said to have shown interest in signing Emerson this summer.

However, unlike their Italian competitors, Bayern have an ace up their sleeve. In the form of Eric Dier and Harry Kane, Bayern possess two former Tottenham players who could look to persuade Emerson to join them this summer rather than electing a move to Serie A.

Since joining Tottenham in 2021, Emerson has gone on to make 100 competitive appearances for the club, scoring four goals and collecting two assists. This season, the Brazilian has featured on 21 occasions for Spurs but has recently struggled for game time, starting just once in the last twelve league games.

As recently covered by GGFN, Bayern are looking to add defensive reinforcement before the start of next season. However, with Joshua Kimmich expected to start the campaign at right-back with Sacha Boey as the second choice, there are question marks surrounding the necessity of this deal, especially before a head coach has been appointed.
