Bayern Munich have set their sights on Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo this summer, according to Cadena Ser’s Sique Rodríguez. Despite Barcelona’s reluctance to sell, their financial situation demands a careful look at potential high-value transfers.

Barcelona’s financial constraints mean they must explore opportunities to offload in the upcoming transfer market and assess internal assets to alleviate economic pressures.

Ronald Araújo has been identified as a prime candidate likely to attract a substantial offer. However, Barcelona’s leadership, under Joan Laporta, is currently opposed to selling Araújo, preferring to offload other valuable players instead.

Sique Rodríguez reports that Bayern Munich are particularly interested in Araújo, as they aim to strengthen their defence. “Bayern Munich is expected to make an offer. Although there hasn’t been an official bid yet, intermediaries have shown interest, and Bayern could propose 80 million euros,” Rodríguez revealed, before dispelling rumours of a previous offer.

“There was no prior offer, but sources indicate one will come this summer. Araújo’s representatives are negotiating an improved contract, which has yet to be finalized, and Barcelona’s sports management is keen to retain him, opting to sell other players first,” Rodríguez added. Other potential players mentioned for transfer include Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.
