In a recent report by Joaquin Anduro in El Desmarque, it is anticipated that Xavi is gearing up to make a significant five alterations to his starting lineup for the match against Almeria tonight.
Barcelona are aiming to secure the second spot in the La Liga standings as they prepare for the Almeria clash, especially after Girona’s loss at home against Villarreal.
Now, Xavi had already hinted at changes during a press conference, suggesting that players like Joao Felix might get the chance to prove themselves tonight.
For what it is worth, Felix was a focal point in the coach’s recent press briefing, alongside Vitor Roque. He acknowledged that the initial plan was not for the Brazilian to join in the winter transfer window.
He explained that both players haven’t been getting much playtime due to tough competition, but now Félix will get the opportunity to start against Almeria.
On the attacking front, Felix is expected to partner with Ferran Torres, giving a break to Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who are feeling the strain of playing three matches in just seven days.
Robert Lewandowski will retain his position as the leading striker, eyeing the top scorer title after being subbed out in the last game against Real Sociedad.

In the midfield, Ilkay Gundogan will miss the match owing to a suspension, making way for Fermin Lopez, while Sergi Roberto’s inclusion will depend on Pedri’s fitness and his ability to handle two games in such a short span.
Additionally, Andreas Christensen will play a defensive midfield role, with Oriol Romeu as an alternative if Xavi decides to use the Dane in defence.
In defence, Xavi faces limited options for rotation due to Ronald Araujo’s fitness concerns, ruling him out for the match against Almeria.
Hector Fort and the potential shift of Christensen to the centre are the coach’s alternatives to alter the defensive lineup, which currently features Jules Kounde and Joao Cancelo on the flanks and Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez as centre-backs.
Marc Andre ter Stegen will continue his quest for the Zamora Trophy from the goalpost.
