The latest word stemming from the media regarding the future of Brazilian sensation Estêvão Willian spells altogether positive news for La Liga giants Barcelona.

This comes amid claims that the teenage sensation has eyes for only one club – Barca.

The name of attacker Estêvão, dubbed ‘Messinho’ in his home country, has of course long proven a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines.

As much comes with the starlet, still just 17 years of age, having been hotly tipped to take his talents to La Liga.

With Palmeiras teammate Endrick on his way to Real Madrid, those on the other side of the Clásico divide are understood to have identified Estêvão as another star in the making.

Two problems, however, exist for Barcelona.

First and foremost, the club’s precarious financial situation. And 2nd, fellow interest on the part of a number of European football’s heavyweights, chiefly Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.

And yet, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, the Blaugrana, for the time being at least, need not fret.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that ‘neither the player nor his agent have been in any hurry to leave’ Palmeiras.

Why? Estêvão and his entourage are waiting for a route to ‘dream’ club Barcelona to open up.
