Barcelona are impressed with Newcastle United sensation Yankuba Minteh and are keeping tabs on him, according to Mundo Deportivo via Fichajes. The club find the player an attractive pursuit for the summer transfer window.
The Spanish giant are always in search of young talents to bolster their squad. They even sent their scouts to watch Minteh play for Gambia in the Africa Cup of Nations. The club are seriously thinking about making a move for the starlet.
After an impressive stint with Odense BK, Newcastle United lured away Yankuba Minteh in the previous summer window for a reported fee of just €7 million. He was then immediately loaned out to his current Dutch team Feyenoord.

The 19-year-old has been performing excellently well this season, attracting attention from major clubs. He has featured in 29 games so far, contributing eight goals and three assists. He is averaging 1.8 shots, 0.9 key passes and 2.1 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
Though Minteh prefers to play on the right wing, he is well-equipped to operate on the left wing or even as a striker. He likes to dribble and cut in towards score to create threats in the final third. He also does heavy defensive duties for his side.
Barcelona’s camp has a positive image of Yankuba Minteh and believes he could be a future star. They want to sign the youngster and turn him into a reliable name. With the uncertainty over the future of Raphinha, the Gambian could be a fine fit.
However, Newcastle United won’t let the attacker leave that easily in the summer. He has four years left in his contract and could be a valuable fit in the squad. The Magpies are seriously constructing a solid team to fight in the league and other top competitions. They will only consider selling the hot property if a lucrative offer arrives in the summer.
