4 Arsenal players named in Team of the Season | OneFootball

Four Arsenal players have been included in the BBC’s Team of the Season for 2023/24, with the campaign coming to an end on Sunday.

With another Premier League season now at an end, the BBC’s Garth Crooks has put together his Team of the Season for the 2023/24 campaign, with four Arsenal players making the lineup.

Crooks named William Saliba in his back three, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice in midfield, and Bukayo Saka as one of his wide players.

On Saliba, Crooks wrote that the defender “has an impeccable manner about him and puts all those defenders who kick and tear their way through games to shame”. The pundit called the centre-back “a class act”.

Crooks claimed Rice is “a rather special individual who has improved the Gunners, and placed them in a position where they are capable of beating any team on their day”, adding that Arsenal are edging closer to major trophy success.

As for Odegaard, Crooks suggested the midfielder is his Player of the Season, an “outstanding player, great leader, and respected by his team-mates”.

Lastly, on Saka, Crooks wrote that the winger has come a long way since being “written off and racially abused by trolls on social media after missing his penalty in the Euro 2020 final”, suggesting that those trolls “are looking rather foolish now”.

Four key members of an impressive Arsenal team, Saliba, Rice, Odegaard, and Saka are all very deserving of their inclusions in any Team of the Season for 2023/24.
