As reported by Bild, Borussia Dortmund could still earn up to €10 million from Real Madrid this summer due to clauses inserted into Jude Bellingham’s contract.

Last summer, BvB had to make the excruciating decision of allowing their star player to depart for pastures new. In a deal worth €103 million, Bellingham signed for Spanish outfit Real Madrid, leaving the Westfalenstadion behind.

However, while the Englishman is no longer plying his trade in the yellow and black of Dortmund, he is still earning his former side a significant amount of income. Bonuesses within Bellingham’s deal mean that the overall fee of his transfer could rise to as much as €134 million.

However, with Los Blancos recently being crowned champions of Spain, €5 million of the potential €31 million in add-ons is already set to come Die Schwarzgelben’s way. Regardless, an additional €4.5 million could be added to that fee for BvB this summer.

When negotiating the deal with Madrid, those in charge at the Westfalenstadion ensured that the add-ons within the deal would be guaranteed to arrive in the next few seasons. Having realised the strength of the Spanish outfit, Dortmund understood that domestic and continental success were undeniably coming their way.

Therefore, if Real are to win the Champions League this season, then Dortmund will receive an extra €4.5 million from the Spanish capital. In total, this would see Bellingham raise BvB an extra €9.5 million this season alone.

Nevertheless, Dortmund may be willing to place their extra €4.5 million on hold until next season, as they are the side Madrid face in the final. With the pair set to clash at Wembley Stadium on June 1, an exciting encounter certainly awaits.
